Baby Eli - North Brisbane Newborn Photographer
I love meeting families for their free maternity session. Its such a great opportunity to get to know each other and work on ideas for the upcoming newborn photos, while capturing one of the most extraordinary and fleeting times of our lives, the glow of pregnancy.
So when this gorgeous family returned a few weeks later with baby Eli in their arms, we already had an idea of how we were going to photograph their newborn session.
Eli was so adorable, all cheeks and snuggles, keeping half an eye on us during the gorgeous photos with his mum and dad but still finding a little smile or two.
Working in the grey tones, I created a lovely image illustrating the two sides of his family, the navy and the grey materials each representing one side of the family with Eli nestled content in the centre.
The grey tones continued as we did a sweet little koala setu,p with a cute koala beanie and teddy, this set is just divine and looks so ultra cute on Eli!
The macro photos are always a big hit too, these are the super close up photos that I use a special lens to capture. Seeing all those teeny baby details in ultra sharp, high definition, larger than life photos is really special.
Then it was time for a change of pace and some natural colours started coming into the shoot. One of my standout favourites from this session is the one with the knitted jumpsuit where he is holding his little foot. It's just so perfect in every way, just like Eli.
As Christmas was just around the corner, we decided a cute little sleigh ride shot would be a great way to remember Eli's first Christmas.
We finished the shoot with the bean bag flow poses, a sleepy, baby-focused set of photos that are simple and stunning.
